Inhaltsangabe: Zusammenfassung: Der Lehrstuhl für Strömungs- und Verdrängermaschinen der Technischen Universität Kaiserslautern wurde beauftragt, das Kühlsystem eines PKW zu untersuchen. Dabei wurden u. a. Energieeinsparungspotentiale, welche sich aus der Optimierung einzelner Komponenten wie beispielsweise der Kühlwasserpumpe ergeben können, erforscht. In dieser Arbeit wurde eine Auswahl geeigneter Laufräder für eine PKW-Kühlwasserpumpe hinsichtlich des Wirkungsgrads, der Förderhöhe, der Spaltempfindlichkeit und der Kavitationsneigung untersucht. Hierzu sind für jedes Laufrad verschiedene Kennlinien auf einem Pumpenprüfstand experimentell ermittelt worden. Jedes Laufrad wurde sowohl in einer geschlossenen als auch in einer offenen Version getestet, um den Einfluss einer Deckscheibe auf die oben genannten Größen zu erfassen.
