About the Author: Leonardo De La Cruz, was born in Tampico Mexico. Lived half of his life between Tampico and the City of Madero, Mexico. Studied primary school at "Doña Cecilia" school in the city of Madero and middle school at ETI #3 in Madero, also. However, hanging with the wrong crowd as a teenager, skip school a lot, thus repeating 7th grade until he gave up at around 18 yrs of age. Poor parents could not afford any other school, so he worked many jobs without any expectations in life. In 1988/1989 arrived in the USA but returned to Mexico little after, due to his brother's death, leaving him even more empty, since he was almost the perfect brother and son. Came back to the USA with the hope of going to see some of his favorite bands, but found out that most of them were from Europe and never got to see the ones from the USA. Years later after much drinking and some drugs, hopeless and many mistakes, was invited by a stranger to be a listener for a year to a school of ministry. However, since he flunked English, Spanish, and math, year after year, he didn't know how he was going to understand all in English. Growing up catholic, but atheist at heart, he said, God, if you are God, then teach me English and will tell everyone that speaks English, that you love them. During that year he lost his job, because his boss wanted him to focus only in work, so he got another job, while going to school of ministry, but not making enough, he lived homeless for six months, living at an abandoned construction place inside big sewage concrete pipes. Many years later, at a church in Albuquerque New Mexico, a co-Sunday school teacher introduced him to Gabrielle J Penfield at the time, who barely came back from 2 years of serving the Peace Corps in Ivory Coast. When he saw her pinkie cheeks and blue eyes, all he saw was a fresh bloomed rose coming of the flower fridge. Falling in love with her right away, he avoided her always trying not to keep falling in love but destiny had them running unexpectedly into each other at every corner of this 10- 12,000 people church. After some time they dated, planned for marriage, and-split up. Missing her, he was given a $1000 dollars by his mom after she sold a few cattle she had, and she said to him. "If you love her, go find her". He drove his car to look for her in Wisconsin, but lost the money and his car engine blew up and got stolen, meanwhile, she drove back to Albuquerque, looking for him. Now married for 15 years.
