In late 2019, the world started talking about this possible, new, and unknown virus emerging out of China. People were getting sick, and modern technology couldn't detect or treat the afflicted. We were told that this could be the end or that it could be like the Spanish flu of 1918 and that mortality rates could wipe out certain segments of the population. Governments reacted, then overreacted, and the population pleaded for help, guidance, and direction. The virus was identified and given a name: Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Once the illness was synthesized, the laboratories we work with informed us we could begin conducting testing on March 16, 2020. My company was the first to conduct a COVID-19 test in the State of New Jersey.
By this point, the virus was running rampant and spreading quickly from person to person. My company, which consists of two medical facilities and a travel clinic, conducted over forty thousand tests on over nineteen thousand patients. You'd have thought a reasonable person would correlate this test data and use it to calm the masses. However, we had data from as early as March 2020 and thought that something must be wrong considering how the data was being interpreted by the so-called "experts", such as the politicians and talking heads on television. Their responses simply didn't match what we were seeing in practice.
What Dr. Anthony Fauci was saying on television every day during the White House briefings didn't match the actual data we were collecting on the ground. Did we tell someone? Did we inform our patients about this data? Well, we tried! Each time we tried to share our data we were looked at like we'd just reported a Big Foot sighting. Nobody wanted to listen because what people were hearing on the news was quite different from what we were trying to disseminate. Our information was 100 percent accurate, but we were unable to share it widely.
I figured that at some point, the masses would catch up and realize what we were seeing in the data. That never happened. Even now, as I write this introduction, there are still groups of people out there who don't understand basic terminology, timelines, or what this virus is and does to those who contract it. More importantly, there are still people who believe in the fallacies that were discussed early in the pandemic. When someone fully understands the facts and data, it looks like most of the world's population was taken for a wild ride, at least with the draconian measures that were instituted. Believe me, Covid is very real, but what you were told about the sickness, how to mitigate it, and what precautions you should take to avoid catching it mimic the makings of a Hollywood blockbuster. What adds insult to injury is that we knew the information being given was misconstrued about a month after testing started! Whether you want to cancel me or not, this is the truth about COVID-19. No BS, no politics, just data.
