About the Book

Coming from a large family of 10 children, Linda heard her parents, grandparents, siblings and other relatives telling tales during family visits and family functions as she grew up. Today she has retired from the Chicago Police Department and surrounds herself with giggling grandchildren who love to hear her tales. Linda D Griffith is The Fictician. He frequently got drunk and threatened the grandmother's life while demanding to be given his fare back home. His behavior one hot summer night changed the lives of his family forever. In 'I Bear Witness', the poor simple soul telling the story explains how he unwittingly became a witness to a murder and how helpless he was to prevent it as the victim locked eyes with him the entire time. 'Nightmare Freight' deals with a town of mischievous kids taking advantage of a striking railroad system and how it ended in the death of one of them. 'The Fork in the Road' is a tale of a young boy trying to deal with racism and bullying. His actions result in a death and the upheaval of his entire family as well as grief and pain to
