About the Book

Epigraph "Beyond the field of right doing and wrong doing, there is a field. I will meet you there." Sir Rabindranath Tagore, Hindu Poet, 1861 - 1941 Foreword She seemed to float up the steps, smiling bubbles of champagne and laughing with all her presence. "I heard you were here," she handed me her guitar with an irresistible smile. "I am so pleased." Thus began my discovery that love comes in many disguises, and leaves in different ones. I had watched her for years from a conception of safety, and in this moment, she dissolved the line separating reason from unreasonableness, and I began a journey I must share so I may have some rest. What follows are selections from my journals, attempting to edit out the burdensome words of explanations and rationalizations while searching for guidance in the treacherous territory between the heart and the mind. After all, you will understand, or not, based on far more than my words. If my heart shares itself honestly, the gaps will be wonderful places to lose yourself. Dedication I dedicate this book to all the passionate souls who live unafraid of expressions of love, and with a special dedication to Adrienne Marie for encouraging me to share these private writings with the world.
About the Author: Poet, photographer, actor, architect, craftsman, artist, mentor, husband and father. Peter Burt cannot remember a time he did not write, a time when he did not feel compelled to give form, function and meaning to the disparate episodes that compose his life. Blessed with the influences of musical and worldly parents, a large family, education and travel, Peter delivers words with "eyes to see and ears to hear" the stirrings of his insightful heart. Common experiences with uncommon translations, Peter offers his poetry and photographs as distinct and personal reflections on typical human experiences. Peter Burt studied architecture at UC Berkeley, owned custom millwork facilities, and grew his design capabilities into residential and commercial venues. He began writing in 1974 as a means to self-discovery. He and wife Adrienne, call Phoenix, Arizona their home.
