"Fifteen Times around the World: A lion bit me in Zimbabwe, and other travel adventures" uses 87 photographs and brief stories to chronicle the most notable highlights of eight years of travel across 40 countries and all seven continents. It is a brief, yet comprehensive, snapshot of our planet at the dawn of the 21st century, educational and suitable for kids of all ages, and adults.
Schön shares his experiences on safari in the Serengeti and in India, fishing for piranhas in the Amazon River, tent camping among penguin colonies in Antarctica, and speeding ATVs around the dunes of the Kalahari Desert. "What I love most is seeking out new corners of the world that are so exceptionally beautiful and unique that it truly feels as if I'm on another planet," Schön says.
When asked about his motivation for producing the book, Schön explained, "I have been fortunate enough to be able to visit these places, but it took 165 flights and eight years to do it. I wanted to create a book that allows kids and others to travel the world - both near and far - in an hour or two, and without leaving their seats."
