About the Author: Jeremy Davis describes himself as 'an average guy with a job, a house and a car.' But for those who know Jeremy well, most would agree that he is far from 'average'! He's always been an individual, some would say a bit of a maverick and certainly single-minded. Like most of us, over the years through work and life experiences Jeremy has faced many challenges and yet he's never let go of a couple of fundamentals which have seen him through the good times and the bad. One is his Christian faith and another is an ability to look at problems straight in the eye and INTENTIONALLY try to solve them! His work as a Global Project Manager for one of the Global Oil Companies makes the most of Jeremy's strategic ability for planning and organisation. He splits his time between home - commuting daily into London - and the world. So far, he's clocked up 38 countries on his travels and he's gained a wealth of experience in project and change management, sales and account management and as a speaker and lecturer. He's happily married to Lisa and they live in England with their two children (Josh and Laura). He's in his mid-40s and is a musician and a member of a local Salvation Army church where he throws himself wholeheartedly into the music, worship and the community. But there was one area in his life where Jeremy felt his intentional personality and approach to life was failing - his weight! On a family holiday when he was deemed 'too large' to be hauled on a harness to the top of some very large trees where his family were having such fun, he cracked. At that moment Jeremy decided to make a change and, being Jeremy, he didn't do it half-heartedly but with all the planning and intentionality that he could muster! In the next 8 months Jeremy re-educated himself on all aspects of food, exercise and positive thinking around weight. He turned his back on traditional diets and approached his weight loss in an intentional, planned way, taking courage from others who had proved permanent weight loss was possible and bringing his own way of thinking to the weight loss programme. The pounds dropped off until, 70 lbs lighter, Jeremy had not only changed his appearance, but had learned many new things about himself, his relationships and his future. Yet the experience had also clarified something more important. For Jeremy, this was proof that when we really put our minds to tasks and problems and intentionally go out to solve them, anything is possible.
