About the Book

Search and rescue dog owner Cody Yates finds himself in the middle of a missing person case that takes him from the Louisiana Governor's mansion to the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. Cody and his German Shepherd Sam have an array of clients including the very rich, the very poor, and the very powerful. Together they have located missing persons in dire circumstances and the most candid of cases. Now, Cody must utilize Sam's unique talents and shady contacts from his past to locate and return Peyton Albright, the governor's missing daughter. Peyton's disappearance has flooded the tabloids with stories about her flamboyant lifestyle. Authorities heading the investigation have yet to obtain any leads and haven't determined if her disappearance was actually a kidnapping. Without any solid leads as to Peyton's whereabouts, the high-profile case intensifies after an anonymous message reaches the governor's office that implicates Cody and an old acquaintance known only as "Mad Dog." After a confidential meeting with the governor, Cody is provided unlimited resources to locate Peyton. His only lead takes him to Runaway Bay, Jamaica.Cody must operate under the radar, avoiding the paparazzi, political pundits, and watchful eyes of the FBI and state agencies that are poised to jump on another public scandal. Cody navigates his way through a complex network of Jamaica's exclusive resorts and restaurants managed by international arms dealers and drug lords. A reliable contact at a Rastafarian-managed nightclub sets up an opportunity for Cody to have a meeting with Mad Dog. During which, Cody learns that Peyton's sex and drug-fueled disappearance was linked to Mad Dog's failed arms deal--but Cody quickly realizes that this is not the biggest news on the island. The locals are talking about strange sightings in the skies, massive fish kills, and large-scale U.S. military exercises close to Jamaican waters. Locals have reported NASA scientists and NTSB investigation teams working covertly in search of a crash site for the U.S. Government. Global satellite monitoring groups are on high alert after monitoring astonishing images of an unknown craft pacing the Shuttle Discovery then disappearing on a crash course towards the Caribbean.NASA's Deep Space Network, the largest and most sensitive scientific telecommunications system in the world, is getting communications from the Mars Exploration Rover named "Spirit." Although Spirit has been stuck in the sand on Mars, she's still able to transmit images and messages to the Mars Reconaissance Orbiter. Scientists around the world are baffled by the Orbiter's cryptic last message: "I'm done. Let 'B' Side take over."While scientists are buzzing with excitement and governments are posturing with concern, the Jamaican arms dealers are tightening up after all the unwanted attention. Peyton's insulin supply is running out and Cody Yates is in the middle of a melee that requires all of his expertise to solve.Cody locates buyers from Mad Dog's interrupted arms deal who are not only focused on acquiring Mad Dog's unique weapon but also looking for someone. Cody joins forces with the buyers to return the weapon and search the island for Peyton and their friend. Along the way, Cody and Sam find more than anyone could have imagined.Converging U.S. military agencies, Jamaican officials, and the newly opened office from the United Nations, Cody's predicament is being watched from every resource available. After the launch of a Golden Record more than 30 years ago, no one thought it would be found. Our beliefs that we are alone in this vast, uncharted universe will forever be challenged. The facts have not yet been proven but the events that occurred were collaborated and witnessed by the few that remain hopeful for an interesting reunion.
