Kyrie Day is a member of an archaeology team from Harvard University. When a small area of land emerges out of the water in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, it becomes a location of interest to the Department of Defense. Two agents from the DOD set out to offer a contract to the Head of Archaeology at Harvard, Professor Elliot Chaddick. Upon reviewing the contract they learn that they would be issued temporary TOP SECRET Special Access Project security clearances for the duration of the operation.

Curious as to why the location is of such interest or would require such high secrecy, they end up accepting the contract allowing Professor Chaddick, Kyrie, and 3 other members to venture to the island and be housed on a US Navy expeditionary mobile base to perform an excavation. They and several other groups of specialists in a variety of fields would work together on the island to gather data to report.

When they arrive they find the island has some strange characteristics as it caused all of the ships systems to go down when they reached the vicinity. When they get to the island, they discover a strange crystalline circle structure made from a variety of meticulously placed crystals into very precise measurements that causes strange anomalies to occur that different groups discover.

When Kyrie hears a private radio transmission that one of the DOD agents has, she then learns exactly why the island is of such interest, as it has a sunken underwater city directly under the island. Things start to get weird when the leading DOD agent begins to become erratic. Gradually they find themselves being restricted more and having their communication devices taken away. When they discover something buried in the sand that seems to be a form of technology. When it activates it begins to glow and Kyrie awakes in a strange place surrounded by very large thriving trees she had never seen before, She knows she is no longer on the remote island where she had been just moments ago. While she is resting in a clearing of the forest, she finds herself in an encounter with a large beast that would soon be her demise. Before the creature could act, she was rescued by a strange woman who jumped in to stop the creature.

The woman decides to assist Kyrie in her search for answers and helps guide her through the different regions of the Kingdom of Atlantis, as it existed in a time far in the past.
