Magisterarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europa - Deutschland - Neuere Geschichte, Note: 2,0, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Historisches Institut), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Der absolutistische preußische Staat im 18. Jahrhundert erschuf eine Armee die bereits den Zeitgenossen auf der einen Seite als Musterbeispiel an Disziplin, auf der anderen Seite als die Soldaten beispiellos unterdrückendes Instrument galt. Die preußische Armee als solche erlebte ihre Blüte während dieser Zeit. Nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg als stehendes Heer errichtet, wurde sie unter Friedrich Wilhelm I. und Friedrich II. sorgfältig nach deren Wünschen und Bedürfnissen geformt. Das Maß, in dem beide Herrscher mit absolutistischer Hand in alle Belange ihrer Streitkräfte eingriffen und sie verwalteten, findet in anderen Herrscherhäusern dieser Zeit kaum Vergleichbares. Das Ergebnis war eine gut ausgebildete und disziplinierte Armee, die sich durch ihre militärischen Erfolge zum Vorbild vieler anderer europäischer Armeen aufschwang. Im Verlauf des Siebenjährigen Krieges, spätestens aber mit dem Tode Friedrich II., setzte aber bereits der Verfall der Truppen ein. Es sollte ihr in der Folgezeit nicht wieder gelingen an das alte Format anzuknüpfen. Noch heute stellt die preußische Armee, gerade unter Friedrich II., ein Sinnbild für alles "Preußische" dar. Akkuratesse, Diensteifer, Gehorsam, Pflichtbewusstsein und Effizienz werden als "preußisch" empfunden. Ebenso unwillkürlich werden Militarismus, Kriegstreiberei, barbarische Strafen und ein unmenschlicher Kasernenton, auch im Zivilen, damit assoziiert. Gegenstand dieser Arbeit ist es, die Ausbildung und Disziplinierung eines preußischen Soldaten nachzuvollziehen und auszuwerten. Der Fokus wird hierbei völlig auf der gemeinen Infanterie liegen. Spezialtruppen wie Pontoniere, Sappeure oder Pioniere werden ebenso keine nähere Betrachtung erhalten, wie die anderen beiden Hauptwaffengattungen: die Artillerie und Kavallerie. Z
