About the Author: Ted Patterson, a broadcast journalist and three-time winner of the Maryland Sportscaster of the Year Award, has covered the Baltimore sports scene since 1973. Through the years, Patterson has been behind the microphone for the Baltimore Orioles, the Baltimore Blast and Spirit, the Cleveland Cavaliers and Crusaders, Navy football and basketball, and a variety of other teams. He is author of several books, including the Golden Voices tributes to legendary baseball and football announcers. Dean Smith covers the Baltimore Ravens and the Orioles for the Baltimore Brew. His sportswriting has appeared in Press Box, Fan Magazine, Baltimore City Paper, and on the websites Patch.com and the Midnight Mind Review.
