Many approaches have been undertaken to mitigate global climate change, including the movement away from fossil fuels. Fossil Free Fuels: Trends in Renewable Energy examines several key topics, such as the utilization of biofuels as a sustainable renewable resource, recycling and untapped waste-to-energy products, and other carbon-neutral strategies in various industries, such as the transportation, construction, and manufacturing sectors. It provides recent updates on the latest technologies, modeling, design, and technical aspects, as well as several practical case studies. The current world energy scenario is examined and various solutions to larger environmental problems are outlined in terms of the shift to more alternative energy sources.
Features:
- Minimizes technical jargon in a straightforward style for a wider audience
- Discusses sustainable options for different industries, such as the use of green materials in the construction sector, biofuels for transportation, and many more
- Includes numerous illustrations, tables, and figures to aid in understanding
This book serves as a practical reference for engineers, researchers, environmental consultants working in renewable energy industries, and students.

Aminaton Marto started her career in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) as an assistant lecturer 'A' in July 1983 and was promoted to full professor in 2008. She has been appointed as a visiting scholar in Japanese and American universities and a visiting professor at Tokyo City University, Japan. Currently, she is affiliated with the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), UTM Kuala Lumpur. In MJIIT, she belongs to the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department and a Member of Disaster Preparedness and Prevention Centre. In addition, she is also an associate fellow at the Centre of Tropical Geoengineering, UTM. Since joining UTM, Professor Marto has established numerous successful research programs in the field of geotechnical engineering. Her specializations are in soft soil engineering, geotechnical investigation and geotechnical earthquake engineering. She pioneered the research on bamboo-geotextile composite for soil reinforcement and the use of coal ash as an alternative material for soft soil improvement. Her other research includes chemical and recycled blended tiles for soil stabilization, tunneling, liquefaction and geothermal energy pile. Currently she is focusing on sustainable development and disaster risk reduction. This includes exploring the use of screw driving sounding test for determining fast and accurate sub-surface soil profiles and the use of industrial waste for carbon sequestration. Throughout Professor Marto's 35 years of service in UTM, she has successfully secured more than 30 research projects from national and international agencies. She had published numerous journal papers and supervised more than 50 local and international postgraduate students.
