About the Author: JoAnne Mary McKnight is a protégé of the late Owen Dodson, writer and theatrical director from the Post Harlem Renaissance era. Her writing career was initiated as a playwright who specialized in musical dramas for children and adults. For over a decade prior to embarking upon the research, which ultimately birthed The Corvidian Trilogy (novels/fantasy), she wrote plays that were produced predominately in the Washington DC market in professional, university, and community theaters.
