Jason was reluctant to establish a relationship with Brittany due to her vast wealth, while he was pennyless. Brittany told him that her wealth was a curse. Jason could not understand how too much money could be a curse. As their relationship unfolded he finally learned how too much money could be a curse. When Brittany's attempted to save him from harm by members of the Apostles, Jason mistakes her motive and in anger he curses her and abandons her, beliving he will never see her again. In anger he tells her that she and Mark deserve each other. He aunt is her guardian and coerced her into a loveless marriage which ends before it begins. When a child is born nine months after the honeymoon it opens the door to Jason's past and the reason he or his loved ones could be marked for revenge because of the deeds of his father. The kidnapping of Brittany's four year old daughter is the catalyst that brings them back together, only to place her in danger when she is accused to killing her guardian when she is found in a locked room, and she has the oly key to the door, with the dead body of her aunt and she herself comotose from an overdose of sleeping powder, and a signed sucide note beside her.The reason for the murder and suicide attempt, the police belive, was that she had been informed that her aunt had paid the assasin who murdered her parents so that she could become Brittany's guardian and control her multi imillions. In rescuing Brittany's four year old daughter Jason uses illusion to rescue Annie, Brittany's daughter. In their near death experiences during the rescue operation, a bond between Jason and Annie is formed and cannot be broken. The only thing that Annie asks of Jason is that he find her father. While Mark was married to Brittany for three months he does not want the child to bare his name, until as result of Brittany being accused of killing her aunt, he sues Brittany for custody of Annie. With custody of Annie and Brittany either dead or in prison, Mark would gain control of her multi millions. When Brittany and her daughter and a friend are taken hostage in an effort to get at Jason, Jason's foster father uses illusion to bring an end to the vandetta that had maked Jason for revenge.
