FOUR SCREENPLAYS: THE KISS, RIANA, THE HEALER & THE EMPEROR, PAN OF THE NEVER-NEVER BY PAUL SMITH THE KISS: Desperate JASSY ROWE has fled a miserable life in a drought-stricken town where she worked to support her family including her abusive father to the 'big smoke. Dreaming of stardom, beautiful JASSY is cast as "Lorna Doone" by the play's lecherous local repertory company director her new Bank Manager boss, JAMES KING. Hollywood acting casualty VAL HOOPER is in jail for robbery. His parole hangs on him acting in "Lorna Doone" and a psychiatric report by Dr Findgold. Cast as lovers, sparks begin to fly between them and the rest of the cast. Strange events occur. Their lives are thrown into turmoil as the play begins to obsess them. Has this all happened before? THE KISS is a unique comedy, love story, psychological and supernatural thriller. RIANA is a classic tragic love story, thriller and musical drama set in the underworld of poets, musicians and criminals inhabiting SAN FRANCISCO. RIANA JOHNSON is known for her beauty and independence; LARQUETTE, drug-dealing criminal, poet and murderer, his ruthless gang headed by FLEMING a cool and calculating killer, MORGONE the old drug pusher; FRANCIS LYNBURGER- violinist extraordinary, desperate for his chance at fame and fortune; SMITH, corrupt big businessman bewitched by RIANA; JACQUES FONTAINE and his Poetry Band and his son RIMBAUD, dreamer and poet/singer in love with RIANA and life; TRISH, hopelessly in love with Rimbaud, her brother CHARLIE in love with drugs and death. The triangles mesh into an archetypal story of love, greed, power, friendship, music, murder and mysticism guided by the Hand of Fate that seems cruel, yet in the heart-wrenching, magnificent climax... ironically true to life! THE HEALER & THE EMPEROR: MONSIEUR FERRIER, lifelong friend of FABRE D'OLIVET remembers Fabre's strange encounter with the unforgettable CHRISNA, Le Revolution and the influence of libertines SIGAULT and his sister AMELIE until the destinies of the future healer and emperor collide in 1800 when NAPOLEON seizes power and FABRE criticizes him. After a bizarre assassination attempt Napoleon imprisons him. After conquering most esoteric sciences and languages including the extinct ancient Hebrew, FABRE pens his masterpiece The Hebraic Tongue Restored. But, to get published he has to confront his old nemesis, NAPOLEON. He must prove the miraculous nature of his discovery of the essence of sound and language. He convinces a congenital deaf-mute's mother to let him try to heal him. A miracle! NAPOLEON has him arrested after he cures another and the conflict between the healer and the emperor resumes. PAN OF THE NEVER-NEVER: PAN is awoken, after sleeping for over a 100 years, in the great wilderness of WILSON'S PROMONTORY, AUSTRALIA (the real Never-Never Land) by a helicopter searching for BRAD, escaped from a children's home operated by the abusive MR. HARVEY. PAN meets BRAD who can't believe who he is but after a fast flight changes his mind. PAN needs help to dig out the lost boys old hideout. While BRAD snoozes, PAN flies over the area to check on the changes while he slept and is happy to have an encounter with the 'PIRATES' motorcycle gang unloading drugs from a yacht. PAN flies BRAD by night to the CHILDREN'S HOME to bring back BRAD'S friends ... a new lot of 'lost boys'. But there's a snag in the guise of SANDY and KYM. Girls! The other gang members are little DANNY who has discovered who Pan really is, GREG, the tractor driver; MARIO, an Italian kid and BEN, an Aborigine who amazingly converses with Pan in his mother tongue. PAN flies Sandy down to check out the yacht and search for the 'Pirates' but PAN and Sandy are outsmarted and find themselves all tied up ready to become the sharks breakfast!
