About the Book

FOXGLOVE is the story of a forbidden romance between a wealthy German banker suspected of being an arms dealer (Nicholas Ellison/aka Nicholas Ellsberg) and an American photo-journalist, Dakota Rabinowitz, and how their relationship disrupts their lives and their futures. FOXGLOVE is a suspenseful adventure which takes two long-time friends-Dakota Rabinowitz, photographer, and Iris Bell, journalist-around the world, through a web of intrigue woven by a man who changes their lives in more ways than they could possibly imagine. And FOXGLOVE is about the friendship between two very different women, a friendship that rises above race, religion, and the changes caused by the passage of time. For fans of novels about tough contemporary women in unusual circumstances. Think Girl with Dragon Tattoo meets Tom Clancy's novelist stepsister who's related by marriage to Nora Roberts.
About the Author: Dawn Reno Langley always wanted to be a spy, but she never did like guns, so she writes about her fantasies instead. She lives with a crazy Shichon, adores her magically-wonderful grandson, and rehabs historic houses in the Durham/Raleigh area. Dawn says: The inspiration for this tale came from a teenage love affair with thriller and suspense by the masters like Frederick Forsyth, John LeCarre, and Robert Ludlum. Couple that interest with a fascination with what journalists do, and you have FOXGLOVE. To make the story more modern, I wanted two strong female lead characters who are leaders in their field and on the edge of the action in the world's hot spots. Junkies for the story. No matter where that story is. Writing their story meant doing some armchair traveling of my own, and there's only one thing better: face-to-face traveling. In the case of this novel, I listened to a friend's stories about being in Beijing during the student revolt, did a lot of research on the MidEast, and used some of my own experiences for the European locations. Research for this book was great fun! To give you more insight into how I incorporated some research on Chinese culture, read my essays at my website: dawnrenolangley.com
