About the Book

This book is part of a nature series. Children love going to the pond and looking for pollywogs and catching frogs. This book tells the story of the life cycle of a frog from the frog's point of view. This frog tells about how he changes and how these changes affect his friendship with others in the pond. He loves how his body is changing and how he can experience new things. He especially loves his new legs!!! This creative story takes your child through the live cycle of a frog as he changes from egg to pollywog to frog with legs! This is a great beginning nature book for your buddy naturalist. Other books in this nature series include Little Whale Small, Changing Colors, The Ugly Bug and The Bike That Ate Dirt. The Bike That Ate Dirt is also written in Spanish under the title "La Motocicleta Que Come Lodo".
About the Author: Tutu Mele loves to write books for the beginning reader. Her books usually have a scientific or nature theme. She realizes that children are filled with questions and she has written books that answer these questions about the nature children see around them. She does this in an artistic way that catches the imagination of these younger readers. She keeps the vocabulary at the primary level so that these beginning readers can read and reread these books on their own. These books are sized to fit into young hands beautifully. She has dedicated this book to her grandchildren who are learning to read and love the excitement of the outdoors. They love hunting for pollywogs and frogs and this book teaches them all about the life cycle of the pollywogs and frogs that they catch. This book is for all the budding naturalists in every family. Whether your child can read or enjoys being read to, he or she will enjoy this book. She has also illustrated this book. She writes under the name of Tutu Mele, and her real name is Mary Martin. She has taught science for many years and loves sharing her knowledge and love of nature with children. She lives in the White Mountains of Arizona in the summer and spends her winter in Baja California. She is retired and loves her life enjoying the "endless summer".
