From Broken to Beautifully Broken is a book documenting the journey of a young girl with mental health struggles, unbeknownst to her, that began at the early age of 4 years old after a car accident that could have killed her but instead left her with lasting scars. As the years progressed in her journey, so did the traumas, and in turn, so did her challenges with her mental health. It wasn't until a compilation of many mental health struggles presented themselves as an eating disorder that Ella finally received the proper treatment to work through 35 years of trauma.
After months of therapy in all different shapes and forms, Ella was finally able to reopen her old wounds that had been haunting her. She learned that trauma does not have to make you a victim. All these things in life that she thought had made her a victim could actually help her to grow into the best version of herself. All those years that she thought life was digging her into this deeper and darker hole just needed to be looked at from a new perspective. She learned to pull the life lesson out of all the things that she had thought broke her. Life had actually given her the possibility to grow.
This book teaches the reader that YOU CAN CHANGE THE NARRATIVE OF YOUR LIFE. You can use grief as a catalyst for transformation into your best self. This book is for any gender at any stage of life. It's for the bullied, the abused, the divorced, the grieving, the parents, the teenager, the grown adult, and even the elderly. The book is written for anyone who has faced or knows someone who is facing a life challenge or trauma.
Each chapter is authentically written with raw, true emotion, and after months of therapy in a treatment center, the author was able to revisit those wounds and heal. The book is written for those who can't yet find their voice or who don't yet have the courage to be seen. The author IS THE VOICE and THE FACE for all of those suffering. Her hope is that after reading about her journey and struggles, you will find one or many relatable moments and either use her advice on how to change your narrative or at the very least feel seen and heard. Her hope is that one day you will become the voice for the next person, and eventually the stigma of mental health will be silenced with our voices! Mental Health IS Health!
At the beginning of the book, the author provides a playlist of music that goes along with each chapter. Her hopes are that after you read each chapter or each trauma, the song associated with the chapter will help you to really engulf the emotion behind the aftermath of the trauma. Music was always something the author used to express herself, and she handpicked each song associated with the chapters.
