Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2004 im Fachbereich Psychologie - Lernpsychologie, Intelligenzforschung, Note: 1, HAWK Hochschule für angewandte Wissenschaft und Kunst - Fachhochschule Hildesheim, Holzminden, Göttingen, Veranstaltung: Seminar: Lerntheorien und Lernfähigkeiten, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In dieser Arbeit werden zunächst allgemeine Informationen zum frühkindlichen Autismus und einer Auswahl anderer Entwicklungsstörungen geben. Anschließend die Symptome, Ursachen und mögliche Behandlungsmethoden des frühkindlichen Autismus aus der klinischen Lernpsychologie vorgestellt und erläutert. Unter Autismus versteht man eine schwere Entwicklungsstörung, die vor allem gekennzeichnet ist durch einen Mangel an Sprach- und Kontaktfähigkeit - das Wort "autos" stammt aus dem Griechischen und bedeutet "selbst". Erstmals verwendet wurde der Begriff "autistisch" 1911 von Eugen Bleuler, einem Schweizer Psychiater, um schizophrene erwachsene Patienten zu beschreiben, die durch starke Selbstbezogenheit und sozialen Rückzug auffielen. 1943 benutzte der Kinderpsychologe Leo Kanner den Begriff Autismus bei Kindern, deren Verhalten sich von schizophrenen und behinderten Kindern unterschied. Auffallend bei den von ihm beobachteten autistischen Kindern war eine Einschränkung der Sprachfähigkeit, die Unfähigkeit, mit anderen Personen Kontakt aufzunehmen, und die sogenannte autistische Einsamkeit, die Abkapselung von der menschlichen Welt, welche schon im ersten Lebensjahr erkennbar ist. Reize aus der Umwelt können von dem Kind nicht richtig aufgenommen werden oder werden teilweise völlig ignoriert. Aufgrund des frühen Auftretens der Symptome dieser Entwicklungsstörung im Lebensalter, prägte Kanner den Begriff des frühkindlichen Autismus oder Kanner-Syndroms. Erst in den achtziger Jahren wurde Autismus schließlich als eigenständige diagnostische Krankheit anerkannt, die sich von Schizophrenie unterscheidet.
