About the Book

Each immigrant to Canada has a unique tale to describe. An immigrant's experience is complied with anxiety, depression and isolations. The Fugitive's Baby is a fictional story of bravery and fortitude. A young couple was separated because their lawyer, Mr.Wood suggested that the couple do an outland sponsorship. The Canadian husband experienced aggravated stress, as he was separated from his wife who had to depart to her country of birth. She entered U.S.A after several months on a visitor's visa, where she gave birth to a bony baby boy. The next four days were spent in the home of hospitable relatives, yet the perturbed young father longed to return with his baby and wife to Canada. Still in pain after her episiotomy, she agreed to go along with her husband's plan to illegally enter Canada. The notable storm affected most of the States, with massive power loss in certain area. It was declared a disaster zone with its crippling effects. As large amounts of snow fell it reduced visibility, which made driving conditions even more difficult. The little red jeep surged its way through the fierce storm. The mother, father and a four day old faced the raging snow storm. Suddenly, the universe presented an unfriendly situation of fear and potential danger. The car slid off the road and landed in a ditch. A rough, tough man with a Texas accent pulled up to the jeep. To the mother, he seemed a serial killer lurking in between states. The thoughts of voyeurism, fetishism and sadomasochistic tendencies, went through the mother's mind, like a visual slide show. Nevertheless, he helped haul the jeep out. The vengeful spirit of darkness took over which made the road conditions worst. In the darkness the baby, was not visible. He did not move or cry. Snow fell deliriously. A huge truck sped by. The adverse road conditions and icy road surface caused it to jack knife, causing a chain reaction. The strong winds and blowing snow hampered their visibility. Strength and courage kept them moving, through such tormented weather. They were desperate to be together as family and nobody was going to break that loyal bond. They reached the Canadian/U.S.A border. The darkness was cold and hostile. The situation was psychologically disturbing, as delusions of being caught crossed their minds. Darkness filled the air, as mother and baby sat clouded under the dark sheet, on the floor, behind the front seat, of the car. This was a real life game of migrant slipping through the cracks. If the baby whimpered or cried, they would be caught. Exploring the metaphysical world, she appealed to God to safely transport her and her baby to Canada. Her body was paralyzed with fear. Her husband's heart beat violently, and such palpitations sped up with a greater sense of fear, as he drove his car cross the border. The voice of the Canadian immigration official echoed through the air, "What is in the package on you back seat sir..." The mystery bag with baby contents sat on the seat above the mother and baby, with an element of suspense. The extreme terror had subsided, as the husband whispered "Welcome to Canada, honey..."
