Motherhood is the most life-changing journey a woman will take and yet it passes by her at lightspeed. If she absorbs the definitions of motherhood presented to her by the culture at large without the opportunity to reflect and center herself in this fleeting moment, a mother can easily lose her way, and, even, herself. And so many do.
The Full-Circle Journal gives her the chance to seize that moment and build for herself an understanding of how she is changing, what she needs, and how she wants motherhood to unfold for her. It is here to serve as a mentor, memoir, and friend who will help her see, understand, shape and remember what is happening to her.
There are an abundance of books on how to raise a child. There are also books or blogs on how to process motherhood that are mostly memoir or focused on dishing out advice. Cate didn't find anything hands-on to help her through the transition every day, something that was cheaper, easier and more accessible than weekly therapy sessions. Something that actually provided her with release and replenishment at the same time that it made her brave new world seem conquerable and more enjoyable.
So, she created it. She called on her usual recruits: journaling, meditation, self-help psychology, and therapy, and built a personal, customizable roadmap through the wilderness. Every day for six months, moms will have the chance to reflect, write, gain inspiration from thought leaders, and engage in activities designed to help her make the most of this transition. It offers a space and structure and guidance for moms to contemplate and conceptualize their stories through daily writing and activity prompts combined with the inspiration and wisdom of authors, poets, and leaders in self-care. Cate created a platform to, first, find her voice and, then, speak her truth in order to become better friends with herself. Now she wants to share it.
