He has been a visiting professor at New York University's Stern School of Business and at Doshisha University in Japan. He has consulted for both the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Trade in the People's Republic of China. Among his six books are Invasion of the Salarymen: The Japanese Business Presence in America (Praeger) and Exploring International Business Environments. In addition to his research in management and international business, which has resulted in more than 50 scholarly articles, he has published articles on folklore, culture, comparative literature, and human nature.
