Ein nackter Mann setzt zum Sprung an uber die Absperrung einer Manege - mit diesem Cover seines Buches hat Peter Halfar provokativ ins Bild gebracht, was jede und jeder, mehr oder weniger dramatisch, freiwillig oder unter Zwang, schon selbst erlebt Es gilt, aus einer unertraglich gewordenen Enge den Absprung ins Weite zu wagen, um das nackte Leben zu retten. Dieses Thema variiert der Autor, Zeichner und Maler in seinem dritten Kurzgeschichtenband, dessen Reiz die Komposition aus 26 Texten und 32 teils farbigen Bildern ausmacht. Den Leser und Betrachter erwarten kunstlerische Arbeiten von Niveau; fur eine Kurzgeschichte wurde der Kunstler bereits 1997 mit einem Literaturpreis des amerikanischen Magazins PANGOLIN PAPERS ausgezeichnet, und der erste Preis der Kieler Kunstwochen wurde ihm 1984 verliehen. Alle konnen meine Kunst verstehen; denn ich schopfe aus der Realitat des Alltags", erklart er. Ihm erscheint das Leben wie ein laufender Film, aus dem er sich einzelne Abschnitte herausgreift, u. a. Szenen in Munchen, Paris, Rom, Venedig, in New York, Tunis und Agypten. Mit gespannter Aufmerksamkeit und einfuhlsam erfasst er jeweils das Charakteristische von Orten, Menschen und Situationen. Jedes Detail registriert er; denn scheinbar unbedeutende Details konnen sich bei genauem Hinsehen als Symptome personlicher oder gesellschaftlicher Krisen entpuppen. Die Perspektive wechselt. Im "Cafe Illy" verfolgt er als unbeteiligter Beobachter ein Geschehen, das sich wie ein Stummfilm abspielt - einzig gesprochenes Wort "Attenzione", einziger "Es musste etwas sehr Ernstes sein, was sich auch immer dort abgespielt haben mochte"; der Leser ist herausgefordert, seine eigenen Schlusse zu ziehen. In anderen Geschichten ist Halfar Mitspieler, oft ist er unmittelbar Betroffener, bei einem Streifzug durch die Pariser Nachtlokale zum "Und da stieg auf einmal das Gluck zwischen uns auf, es sieg auf wie eine Wolke inmitten des gestankerfullten, verdreckten Raumes mit den ungedeckten Tischen und den schmutzigen Wanden. Wir begannen zu zittern ... Freunde der Belletristik sowie Liebhaber der bildenden Kunst kommen mit dieser ansprechend gestalteten Hardcoverausgabe gleichermaßen auf ihre Kosten. Bei wiederholtem Lesen und Betrachten werden sie immer neue Entdeckungen machen.
