Fachbuch aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europas - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Wenn bei der Geschichte der modernen Renaissanceforschung in disziplingeschichtlicher Hinsicht die Rede ist, so wird Jacob Burckhardt unbestritten bei der Grundlegung dieser historischen Disziplin ein bleibendes Verdienst zuzurechnen sein. Die Aufmerksamkeit, die ihm bis heute zuteil wird, ist mit Recht sehr groß. Dem Mitbegründer, wenn auch auf dem Felde des italienischen Humanismus des 15. Jahrhunderts, Georg Voigt, wird dessen Bedeutung zwar nicht in Abrede gestellt, jedoch ist die Beschäftigung mit ihm weitaus geringer und fällt bisweilen sehr polemisch aus. Diese "kritische Nachlese" bezieht sich insbesondere auf eine Monographie zu Georg Voigt, die der Verfasser 2004 veröffentlicht hat, die bislang die einzige zu Voigt geblieben ist, und stellt einerseits die Ergebnisser derselben auf den Prüfstand, andererseits aber auch die Rezeption von Voigt im Spiegel seiner Kritiker, zeitgenössischen wie modernen. Letztlich ist es ein Versuch aus der Kritik an Voigts Werk wiederum eine Annäherung an sein Werk und ihn zu suchen. Viele Begriffe, sei es aus der Literaturwissenschaft oder Geschichtswissenschaft, die sich mit der Zeit der italienischen Renaissance und dem Humanismus beschäftigen, nähren den Verdacht, daß Voigts Nachwirkungen größer sind als bislang angenommen.
About the Author: Geboren wurde ich am 17. Mai 1968 in Naumburg/Saale. Zunächst schloss ich 1988 meine Lehre als Orthopädiemechaniker ab. 1989 beendete ich den Abiturlehrgang an der Volkshochschule Naumburg. September 1989 bis August 1991 diente ich in der NVA bzw. Bundeswehr als Unteroffizier des medizinischen Dienstes. 2000 schloss ich mein Studium der Geschichte/Klassischen Archäologie und Kunstgeschichte mit dem Magister ab. Danach freischaffende Tätigkeit. Meine Veröffentlichungen handeln zumeist über Themen der Leipziger Universitätsgeschichte insbesondere Leipziger Geschichtsprofessoren des 19. und beginnenden 20. Jahrhunderts bzw. Leipziger Korporationen.
