About the Book

Rum under the stars, shipwreck treasure, and oh yes, a fifteen-year-old mystery surrounding a yacht that sank. Plunge into Georgina's Grief with underwater investigator Chris Green to uncover tragedy and deadly secrets. Chris Green is relaxing in the Bahamas on the site of the Spanish galleon they are salvaging when a potential new client calls with an intriguing request that will bring her to New Orleans. The large sum of money offered for what seems like a simple investigation must surely involve more than what is being disclosed. Her instincts are correct, but she wasn't expecting the situation to include a detective who works organized crime. Chris cautiously accepts that there is a blurry boundary between business as usual and lines that she will not cross. And while the client sincerely assures her that no crime is connected with a second job he wants her to take, he doesn't know what truth lies beneath the waters of the Gulf. Fans of Charlie Hudson's scuba-themed novels will find more adventure and some touching moments as underwater investigator Chris Green helps unravel a mystery composed of far more layers than most people realize. About the Author: Off with her combats boots and on to writing best describes Charlie Hudson, born in Pine Bluff, Ark., and raised in Louisiana. She is a 22-year career military veteran and wife, freelance writer and author. After graduating from Northwestern State University in 1974, she entered the Army through a special program of the Women's Army Corps (WAC) - two years before the first women were commissioned through a test program in selected college Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. Hudson experienced a number of "firsts" during her career. She was the first female officer assigned in the history of the 19th Maintenance Battalion in Giessen, Germany; the first female selected to command a maintenance company at Ft. Campbell, Ky.; the first female ROTC instructor at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas; the first female to be designated as the executive officer to the commanding general at the U.S. Army Ordnance Center and School at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md. and the first female to command the Leghorn Depot in Livorno, Italy. During her extensive military career Hudson was deployed to Saudi Arabia for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and to Haiti in support of Operation Uphold Democracy. She retired from the Army in 1995 as a lieutenant colonel. She and her husband, Hugh Hudson, a retired US Army Colonel, later relocated to South Florida where they can enjoy their love of scuba diving. Her scuba-themed novels, Shades of Murder, Shades of Truth, Shades of Gold, Deadly Doubloons, False Front, and Georgina's Grief, take fans underwater for adventure and mystery. Her cozy line, Small Town Lies and Small Town Haven, share the wonderful craft of quilting and the strong friendships among women in a small town. With a serious and emotionally intense non-fiction, Your Room at the End: Thoughts About Aging We Rather Avoid, she guides Baby Boomers through important issues. All of Hudson fiction and non-fiction can be found on her web site at www.charliehudson.net where you can read the first chapter of each book for free.
