The Gift Of You

The Gift of You is a 'how-to', step by step manuscript on setting up a youth program. The author gives the illustration of how a cooking program was used as a template to share her passion with a young audience. Using this as a model she provides detailed instruction on each stage of developing a youth program. The book offers key insight on selecting a target audience, choosing a location, advertising, and obtaining funding (to name a few). The main goal of The Gift of You is to help stir up the innate gift within each individual and use it as a guiding force to help direct and develop the next generation of individuals in our communities. The last chapter of the book gives convincing insight as to what gives us the authority to impact future generations of human beings, and likens each individual to ultimate beings designed by an ultimate creator, designed for a specific purpose. The Gift of You serves as an ideal resource for educators, youth workers, youth leaders, parents, grandparents, and anyone interesting in helping to mold the lives of young people. It is meant to inspire and to invoke a sense of service and lineage to subsequent generations.
About the Author: Bridgette Nicole Skeete-Mackey is a 36 year old Bahamian who is passionate about enriching the lives of children and their families. Bridgette is the last child of eight, born to Gladstone (deceased) and Dourilease Skeete. She was born on September 7th, 1975 on the beautiful island of Nassau. Her early life was shaped through important values she learned from her parents. Her early education began at the William Phipps primary school, and continued at Queen's College High School, both in Nassau. Bridgette continued her tertiary education at Florida International University in Miami Florida, where she graduated in June of 2000 as valedictorian of her class, earning her a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems. She returned to the Bahamas in August of the same year and began employment in the financial services sector, while pursuing a Master's Degree at Nova Southeastern University. In June of 2003 she completed her studies with a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA). She pursued a career in Information Technology until 2011 when she made the decision to completely devote herself in the work of enriching the lives of others. Bridgette maintains that despite her academic success, her most noteworthy achievement is working to help others pursue and fulfill their full potential. Some of her early work includes assisting a client with developing a children's educational program and mentoring/encouraging young women to take control of their lives. She takes pride in helping others, and believes that is the real success in helping to build any entity. Her professional aspirations include expanding her current consulting business which helps individuals build and develop their own businesses in an effort to achieve economic empowerment; writing a series of books geared toward human growth and development. Bridgette is married to Andre Mackey, her best friend of 14 years with 8 of those years being spent in marriage. She is the proud mother of an amazing baby girl, Zhane' Brianne Olivia Mackey. She and her family currently reside on the eastern end of Nassau. Bridgette looks forward to expanding her family in the near future. Her wish for every human being on planet earth is to reach their God-given potential.
