About the Author: Bob Butalia is a former Indian Army tank corps Brigadier with extensive experience of both conventional conflict and counterinsurgency operations. He participated as a young officer in the Battle of Basantar River; the last major tank battle fought in the Indian Sub-Continent.

He has taught tactics and strategy in premier institutes in India interacting with armed forces officers of three dozen countries.

Great Game of Destiny is his fifth book.

Bob took to writing fiction as a challenge. He feels that despite the Indian armed forces being continuously employed in conflict situations over decades, there is a complete lack of a fictional genre in India that combines politics and the military in a compelling contemporary manner.

He has gone through the mortification of losing his first book to malware. The draft had earlier been given a thumbs-up by a founder member of Penguin India.

He was, for over a decade, an advisor to a large US multinational company in India till he decided to become a full-time author.

Bob is married and has a son in the Army tank corps who is married to a journalist. His daughter who is also a journalist in Dubai is married to a banker.
