About the Author: Rennie Davis was the coordinator of the largest U.S. anti-war and civil rights coalition in the 1960s and remains one of the recognized spokesmen for his generation, featured on numerous television documentaries and media forums, from the Legends series produced by CBS to Larry King Live, Barbara Walters, Phil Donahue, VH1, CNN and other network programs. He organized the 1960s most dramatic events, including the 1968 protests at the Democratic Convention in Chicago. For his part in one of the largest media events in history, he was indicted and became one of the Chicago 7, America's most celebrated political trial. The Chicago 7 subsequently became the leadership of a nationwide student strike in the spring of 1970. In addition, Rennie Davis organized the May Day protests, resulting in the largest arrests in U.S. history when a Washington, D.C., stadium was converted into a temporary prison. When he first spoke out against the Vietnam War in the mid-1960s, few Americans agreed with him. By the end of the decade, the majority opinion embraced his call to end the war in Vietnam and Cambodia. After the Paris peace accords were signed in 1973, he -challenged his own political agenda during a speaking tour reported by all U.S. media networks and much of the foreign press. He announced he was leaving the coalition of organizations that had inspired a protest generation to pursue a different view of the future. In 1973, he stated that evolution would create the defining juncture for humanity in the new century. In the 1980s, he was consultant to the largest U.S. syndication of equipment leasing and real estate and created comprehensive business strategies for numerous CEOs and senior executives of Fortune 500 companies. At that time, he also began a global search for highly gifted inventors holding breakthrough technologies. He assisted start-up companies in capital development and took them public. In addition, he worked with directors and senior management of diverse Fortune 500 companies in executive search, leadership training, financial planning, employee benefit design and executive outplacement. He is the founder and chairman of the Foundation for Humanity creating new social and technology options for the 21st century. He is also the founder of the Humanity Fund and Ventures for Humanity, technology development companies providing organizational resources for the commercialization of breakthrough technologies.
