About the Book

The Agile Manifesto was a revolution in software development and management practices, this book takes the revolution to large organizations, worldwide. Ever wonder why so many attempts to implement Agile software development and management practices in large organizations fail? As today's corporations are highly regulated, they've developed sophisticated systems of governance and control to limit their risk. This book is written for IT and business leaders charged with delivering software against tight deadlines to support your organization's competitive business strategies while complying with an ever-growing amount of regulatory oversight. Guerrilla Agile addresses implementing Agile in large, highly regulated organizations, within the company's existing forms of governance and controls. Some books detail traditional software development and management practices, others detail Agile ones - this book shows you how they can peacefully coexist and complement one another. This book will provide you the context, approach and tools you need to successfully implement agile in your organization. Included are: -Real world examples of where "Pure" Agile approaches struggle -How to set the stage in implementing Guerrilla Agile -How to engage your PMO, defining the role they play in implementing Agile -The Guerrilla Agile workflow, which encompasses each software development phase -Organizational design and staffing strategies -Leveraging diversity on Agile teams -Release Management strategies -A comprehensive set of tools you can use, with each explained in detail -Anecdotes on using Agile in the "real world" -Anecdotes on using Agile in Chinese business partnerships
