Dies ist die ergreifende Geschichte von Jula und Rachnador, die in Ravnor ihre Liebe zueinander entdecken. Jula ist nur eine niedere Dienerin und Rachnador ist der Sohn des Ranghohen Ekim aus Sarton. Durch Wulkon, den Sohn des Ranghohen Enkurs gelingt es dem Paar, sich heimlich treffen zu können. Die beiden bekommen ein Töchterchen. Rachnadors einstige Kinderfrau erfährt durch die Köchin in Enkurs Palast von dieser tiefen Liebe. Sie beschließt, Jula zur Kinderfrau von Rachnadors jüngeren Geschwistern zu machen, weil es ihr Herzenswunsch ist, die Kinder gemeinsam aufwachsen zu sehen. Dennoch willigt Rachnador schweren Herzens ein, dem Wunsch seines Vaters nachzukommen und Paradora, eine Ranghohe aus der Nachbarstadt Saludar heimzuführen. Zuerst ändert sich für das heimliche Liebespaar nichts, doch als der Bruder von Paradoras Freundin Dalvaria aus Opalior erscheint, nimmt das Schicksal die zunächst nicht zu vermeidende tragische Wendung. Im Angesicht von Jula, die er in einem See aus Blut ermordet vorfindet, lässt sich Rachnador zu einem schrecklichen Wunsch hinreißen, der ihm ohne sein Wissen von den Mächten der Finsternis erfüllt wird. Rachnador kennt auch den fürchterlichen Preis nicht, weil er erst im Lauf der Zeit zu seinem Entsetzen wahrnimmt, dass das dunkle Grauen Besitz von ihm ergriffen hat. Sieben Jahre lang erfährt sein Wesen eine verabscheuungswürdige Veränderung. Der Seherin Nexana ward jedoch zu Wissen gegeben, dass Rachnadors Glück trotz allem nicht verloren ist. Deshalb ist die Geschichte von Jula und Rachnador zu dieser Zeit keineswegs zu Ende erzählt. Da gibt es nämlich Malenia aus Aevin, deren Schicksal eng mit dem von Rachnador und Jula verknüpft ist. In der Höhle des funkelnden Seelenflors auf Aevin wird sich das Schicksal aller Beteiligten auf unvorhersehbare Weise erfüllen, da das NEBORNIUM und die Mächte der vier Elemente dem Treiben des dunklen Grauens nicht tatenlos zusehen...
About the Author: Helga Schefold, geboren 1962 in Winterlingen Zollernalbkreis, stellt mit diesem Buch ihren ersten Roman vor. Dem Genre "Fantasy" galt seit jeher ihre ganze Aufmerksamkeit. Hauptberuflich ist sie als Sekretärin in einem internationalen Automobilkonzern tätig.
