About the Author: Robert G Brook grew up in the Caribbean as one of the last 'Commonwealth Kids', the son of British parents who had just decided to move out there to live. Schooled in England, he left Southampton University in 1990 all set to lead a Naval career but fell in with a what he describes as his 'band of lunatics' and was commissioned into the Army Air Corps after completing his training at Sandhurst, just in time to watch the first Gulf War end. As was custom in those days, he then completed a six month tour in Northern Ireland with an infantry battalion in Armagh, just as this conflict was reaching its climax. Returning to Middle Wallop in early 1991, he completed his flying training and was offered the opportunity to convert immediately to the Army Mark VII Lynx aircraft, which he then flew for the rest of his Army Career. Completing two flying tours, one back in Northern Ireland and another in Bosnia, he then resigned his commission in 1996 to pursue a commercial career. Writing began originally as a hobby until early in 2014 he took the plunge and committed to it full time. HMG is his first novel and he is soon to finish his second. A life-long fan of the greats - Forsythe, Clancy, Seymour - he tries to emulate their genre but through his own style. Robert lives with his family in the South West of England, messing around on small boats whenever his schedule allows him.
