About the Book

When the cast and crew arrive at a medieval Scottish castle to film The Hammond Project, they have no way of knowing that none of them will be going home again.

History is made when no one is expecting it...

Hammond Hall is known in Southern Scotland as a place of myth and mystery. Never has it been forgotten how, one moonless night many centuries ago, every person and every creature that lived within her walls simply disappeared, never to be seen again. Now as people come to fill her streets and halls once more, it seems something has awakened deep within the old stone framework of her bones. An ancient whisper is growing, a promise recalled; what has fallen to be legend will not suffer to remain there very long.

Tall and handsome and powerful, Ain Wesley looks as if he was made to be Hammond's First Knight - but he doesn't see it. All of his attention is on The Project, its people, and especially this wondrous place, for he has always felt the draw of Hammond deep within his soul. He expects he will find friendship and adventure. Never in his wildest dreams does he expect he will find danger! Or love! But when something unexplainable happens, literally shaking the stone foundations underneath their feet, the memory of an old prediction rises like a ghost in Ain's thought, and he fears something truly terrible has come.

Unable to communicate with the outside world, everyone is content to stay safely within Hammond's walls...until strangers pierce their borders, bringing danger with them. Then Mallory Graham, the petite, green-eyed, fiery-haired daughter of Hammond's "lord" falls deathly ill, and Ain knows they cannot wait any longer.

Taking just a few to travel with him, he sets out looking for answers, for hope, for help. But the more they see and learn, the more those hopes subside. Misery and need, neglect and great misfortune meet them everywhere they go, and when they begin to be pursued, his one remaining hope is just to get them back to Hammond's gates alive!

So begins the tale of love and sacrifice and dangerous adventure that winds its way deep into the heart of a world so changed it will either bind the people of Hammond together forever...or it will tear them all apart...
