Eine umfassende praktische Analyse und Übersicht zu den einzelnen Schritten der Bildverarbeitung, von der Erfassung über die Verarbeitung bis hin zur Anzeige von Bildern. Das Handbook of Digital imaging bietet einen zusammenhängenden Überblick über die Technologie der Bildverarbeitung und konzentriert sich dabei auf die Aufnahme, Speicherung und Anzeige von Bildern. Die einzelnen Bände sind thematisch geordnet und liefern so eine nahtlose Analyse des Bildverarbeitungsprozesses von der Bilderfassung bis zur -ausgabe (Druck/Anzeige). Das Handbuch soll Ingenieuren im Bereich der Konzeption und Entwicklung moderner digitaler Bildverarbeitungssysteme als praxisorientiertes Nachschlagewerk dienen. Die Inhalte beziehen sich auf sämtliche Aspekte der digitalen Bildverarbeitung, einschließlich Optik, Sensoren, Qualitätskontrolle, Steuerung, Farbcodierung und -decodierung. Es umfasst in drei Bänden rund 50 reich illustrierte Artikel (von 20 bis 40 Seiten), ist durchgängig in Farbe und auch in der Wiley Online Library verfügbar. Die über 50 Autoren kommen aus Europa, den USA und Asien, sowohl aus dem akademisch-wissenschaftlichen Bereich als auch aus der Industrie. Die drei Bände sind benutzerfreundlich nach Themen geordnet. Band 1 beschäftigt sich mit der Bilderfassung und -speicherung. Band 2 behandelt die Bildanzeige und -reproduktion/-projektion, die Drucktechnik, Bildrasterung und physikalische Bewertung sowie Modelle für die Rasterdarstellung. In Band 3 werden Anwendungen für Bildverarbeitungssysteme, die Bildverarbeitung von Medien, Remote-Imaging sowie Bildverarbeitungssysteme in der Medizin und Forensik vorgestellt. Ein perfektes Nachschlagewerk für Ingenieure und Designer in der dynamischen globalen Bildverarbeitungsindustrie.
About the Author:

Editor-in-Chief Dr. Kriss received his BA(1962), MS(1964) and PhD(1969) in Physics from the University of California at Los Angeles. He joined the Eastman Kodak Research Laboratories, Color Photography Division, in 1969 and later the Physics Division until his retirement in 1993. In his early years at Kodak, Dr, Kriss focused on color film image structure and modled and simulated the impact of chemical development on image structure and color reproduction. When he joined the Physics Division he focused on image processing of scanned and captured digital images. Dr Kriss spent three years in Japan where helped build an advanced research facility. At Kodak he headed up the Imaging Processing Laboratory and Algorithm Developing Laboratory. He joined the University of Rochester in 1993 where he was the executive director of the Center for Electronic Imaging Systems and taught through the Computer and Electrical Engineering Department. He joined Sharp Laboratories of America in 2000 where he headed the Color Imaging Group. Dr Kriss retired in 2004 but is still active as a consultant, Adjunct Professor at Portland State University, IS&T activities, and as the Editor in Chief of the Wiley-IS&T Series on Imaging Science and Technology.
