About the Book

In this Handbook, Chuck presents his thoughts on Real Leadership. His counsel is based on over 40 years of experience, with both large and small organizations. Chuck began his career as "a follower". But, with the benefit of both good and poor examples of Leadership, Chuck has developed a Leadership style which professionals not only respond to; but are inspired by. Chuck was not raised to be a leader. And that's what makes this Handbook so promising for professionals eager to lead. Without this upbringing, Chuck "figured it out" and has become a Real Leader. In this Handbook, Chuck shares his thoughts on Leadership to assist you in expediting your move to a Leadership role.
About the Author: Chuck is recognized as a Real Leader who has the ability to effect change and create value under adverse circumstances with an infectious caliber of confidence and persistence. Chuck graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial Administration degree from Kettering University (then, General Motors Institute) and achieved an MBA in Finance from Michigan State University. Chuck began his career spending ten years with General Motors where he first began developing his Leadership style. He then migrated his experience and skills to Datapoint Corporation where he served as Director of Accounting for the Customer Service Division. After Datapoint, Chuck was recruited by the New England Newspaper Group (a division of Capital Cities/ABC) to be their CFO. At that time, the New England Group was a conglomeration of six publishing companies located throughout New England. In 1992, Chuck joined Miller Freeman, a $250M trade publishing and trade shows company as Controller to rebuild their accounting systems and organization. As part of the solution he devised, Chuck became familiar with, and implemented Oracle's accounting systems. As a result of his association with Oracle, Chuck was recruited and began a successful career with Oracle Consulting in 1995. He rose to the position of Senior Practice Director where he supported the organization through improvements in Practice and Project Management. In 2004 Chuck joined Blackfoot as a founding member and VP of Technology and Consulting. This organization provided advanced analytics and reporting to advertising agencies and large advertisers. Chuck had responsibility for all aspects of the company except sales and was directly responsible for implementing the analytics platform. Since 2008, Chuck has engaged in a variety of turnaround, startup and other mission-critical Leadership engagements. He is passionate about the use of Operations Audits as a tool to increase value. He is also passionate about Leadership and its importance in increasing and sustaining value. Chuck resides in Scottsdale, AZ where he is involved in collecting Native American Art and canine rescue through National Airedale Rescue.
