About the Book

Happiness has a new dimension. Through laughter, focus, and presence you too will be able to find and enjoy peace every day and be relaxed. Most people go through life accepting mild to serious negativity, depression, anxiousness and being stressed out. This handbook will show you how to do "happy homework" with easy to follow plans at the end of each chapter. There are many ways of enjoying life. The author shares what he has learned through his own trial and error to support your journey to happiness. If you feel content, you can reach that happy place. If you are fearful, contentment and peace is difficult to experience. This book will allow you to enter a world of laughter and joy - in small steps initially. If you follow the practice exercises in each chapter, you will develop the habit of happiness and contentment. You'll want to focus on being in the now, instead of the past or future. The author is a happy person who enjoys peace every day. He feels fulfilled and loves being alive. And yes, he has breakdowns everyday. But he is able to come back to find and discover his inner peace and joy. Smile again. Have fun. Be relaxed. He has developed techniques that are used to enjoy his life and now are shared in this book with you. This is not a book on theory. These are ideas that are simple and rudimentary things that we are aware of, but don't know how to implement, without first forming habits that are positive. Practicing these ideas in your real life and in real time is what the mission is of this handbook.
About the Author: Arizona is still home to Jim Twomey, wife and son today. Born and raised in Tucson, he was an only child born to a dentist father - a perfectionist - and a mother who was a businesswoman. The family was dysfunctional and argumentative, sometimes physically violent with the young boy. One of his parents was labeled a paranoid schizophrenic, while the other clinically depressed. In spite of the difficult and unhappy environment however, Twomey grew up knowing that he was loved. The family did spend time together hiking, fishing, and watching comedy shows on television, but in general, happiness and peace was not a part of everyday life. Going through parental divorce was stressful by the time he was a teenager, and by the time he was a grown man, he would watch as both parents succumbed to the ravages of cancer. A turning point came in his life after finishing his university education, when he participated in a self-expression and leadership program in 2001. He met his wife, Sophie, in 2004 and soon formed the Tucson Laughter Club as well. Always interested in the psychology of laughter and its effects on the human spirit and body, he studied and learned from the masters and was ultimately trained as a laughter leader and received Laughter Yoga training in 2012. Since then, Twomey has coached many individuals and groups into experiencing happiness, peace, and joy - expressing to others that all good things in life occur in the now - and that you must be in the present in order to savor life. He shares his own joy with others and makes it clear that we shouldn't let something from the past affect our lives today. Being in the now gives us victory over the negatives that happened in the past. And laughing about the difficulties of the past is the frosting on the cake. Coaching others gives Twomey another reason to get up every morning and to share his wisdom and insight. He shows us step by step how to form the habits of mind and body that form the basis of real and deep joy. He gives those of us who have a mission to see ourselves happier and more fulfilled, a reason to reach out to his expertise. Be it getting in touch with ourselves in the here and the now through nature, nurture, laughter, or love - Jim Twomey is the epitome of a gentle man, full of wisdom - one who will teach you how to become all that is the best in you.
