Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2020 im Fachbereich Geschichte - Sonstiges, Note: 1,3, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Alte Geschichte), Veranstaltung: Basiskurs II "Fremdherrschaften über Ägypten", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Arbeit soll den Aspekt der Hyksos-Propaganda näher beleuchten und aufzeigen, dass dies für Hatschepsut einen wichtigen Baustein ihrer Legitimation als Herrscherin darstellte. Die Arbeit soll außerdem einen Bezug zwischen der Speos Artemidos Inschrift und der sehr speziellen Situation, in der sich Hatschepsut als Frau und in der Rolle der Alleinherrscherin befand, herstellen. Das Thema Propaganda ist heute aktueller denn je. Mithilfe von Social Media verbreiten sich Schmähkritik und Fake News beinahe unkontrolliert, was bei den Lesern nicht selten zu einseitiger Wahrnehmung von Sachverhalten und Desinformation führt. Hierbei handelt es sich jedoch um kein reines Phänomen unserer Zeit - von den Mächtigen beauftragte Inschriften sowie von den niederen Schichten angebrachte Graffiti fungierten als die sozialen Medien der Antike. Schon früh haben sich Herrscher der Propaganda bedient, um sich selbst im besten Licht darzustellen und auf ihre Leistungen aufmerksam zu machen. Im Alten Ägypten war dies nicht anders; noch heute zeugen zahlreiche Inschriften und Abbildungen von den Großtaten der pharaonischen Herrscher. Ein besonders interessantes Bauwerk stellt in diesem Zusammenhang der Felsentempel Speos Artemidos dar, der die Jahrtausende überdauert hat. An der Tempelfassade ist die Inschrift der Hatschepsut, Pharaonin der 18. Dynastie im Neuen Reich, eingraviert, welche meine Primärquelle für die vorliegende Arbeit darstellt. In der Inschrift schmäht Hatschepsut die Hyksos, die in der 2. Zwischenzeit von ca. 1650 bis 1550 v. Chr. Unterägypten beherrschten und betont im direkten Vergleich ihre eigenen großen Taten und Errungenschaften.
