About the Book

In a remote countryside, Detective Samuel Locke receives an invitation from renowned psychic Madame Vivienne to attend a weekend at a reputedly haunted manor. Upon arriving, Locke is greeted by a diverse group of guests; some are believers in the supernatural, while others like himself are skeptics. The peculiar atmosphere of the manor fuels a sense of foreboding, which intensifies when one of the guests, Dr. Adrian Barnes, is found dead under eerie circumstances that seem to echo an old legend surrounding the manor. Locke, drawing on his detective instincts, senses foul play despite the others attributing it to the supernatural. He decides to delve into the death, determined to uncover the truth behind the supposed haunting. Discreetly interviewing the guests, he uncovers their backgrounds, hidden motives, and connections to each other, discovering buried secrets and unresolved tensions. Madame Vivienne's psychic theatrics intensify, creating a maze of illusions and cryptic clues within the manor. However, Locke relies on his logical reasoning to decipher the coded messages, hidden passages, and strange occurrences. He suspects they hold the key to solving the murder. Locke confronts Madame Vivienne, unraveling her charades and exposing her involvement in orchestrating the psychic illusions and the murder. He uncovers her dark past and a long-standing vendetta connected to the manor's legend. In a tense confrontation, the true murderer is unmasked, revealing their twisted motives and intricate plan to use the legend of the manor for personal gain. Locke ensures the perpetrator is brought to justice with evidence gathered and the truth laid bare. As the manor's mysterious aura dissipates and the truth is revealed, Locke bids farewell to the guests, having solved the perplexing murder and dispelled the myths surrounding the manor. He leaves with a newfound respect for the blurred line between the supernatural and human deception, forging unexpected bonds amidst the eerie affair.
