Book one from the HEART OF THE ARK series
The future has a past and it's you...
An inner-city girl. A starship captain. A space-fighter pilot with the first artificial intelligence born into his head -- and it's annoying. A robot worshipped as God who will end humanity.
What could go wrong?
Sabina Savine is trying to survive a difficult life in the city and doesn't know anyone in the future -- but they know her. Normal people aren't flying spaceships yet but that doesn't stop her from driving her car around the city like she has the fastest spacecraft around... Life is a dangerous game.
Any good story has a future, and this future is intense. Fast-forward to the year of 2152 A.D. and the world has changed. It's almost gone. Only fifty-thousand humans are still alive on Earth or anywhere. Jaśe Khepri is one of them.
Jaśe is a Space-fighter pilot, with the first artificial intelligence to be born inside another human, living inside his head. The pair must save humanity from a robot that some humans worship as God. An entire cult has risen on Earth to worship Server God, but the real threat comes from the machine itself, which has withdrawn from Earth to the asteroid belt, and decided to destroy humanity.
Lastly, we visit the far future -- 2293 A.D. Robots have mined Earth's Moon for Helium-3 and left behind artwork that can be seen from anywhere on the planet. Loukas Khepri is an engineer who will captain the first starship to ever leave Earth and inhabit another world, and he couldn't be more excited about it. By this time in the future, almost every adult has an AI living in their head, and some of them are mischievous, but Loukas is in love with the one that shares his mind.
No matter what time, day, or year it is...something is happening and fast. Earth must face the problems that it has inherited, or all is lost -- including its people. Whether they make it or not, these characters know how to laugh while the ship crashes.
... And they just may crash a few of them.
