Tracey felt as if her life was slowly slipping away from her. Once she had been very successful and in high demand at work. Now, she was making mistakes left and right and finding it very difficult to concentrate on anything.
She had been through a lot in the past year, and approaching the holidays was only reminding her of that. Each day brought a fresh sting of loss. First she and her husband had split, which was unexpected for Tracey. She had assumed life was settled, and would progress traditionally. Then the most devastating loss of all, her mother passed away. She and her mother had been more than just mother and daughter, they had been best friends. They would often plan trips and go on adventures together.
Now the holidays were drawing close and Tracey was faced with the truth of what her life had become. She was causing problems at work, which by all rights might get her fired.
