This taut thriller by newcomer Dr. H. K. Bigby will force you to question everything you believe to be true about the companies that make and distribute your medication...
Based on a true story, The Hidden Hand in Medicine begins with biologist Pete Panadero called into an emergency meeting by the Mason-Bickmoor Company. Panadero has heard the rumors about their multi-million-dollar drug Monazene. Patients are dying under suspicious circumstances. It won't be long before the company is forced to admit that its drug is dangerous.
But Mason-Bickmoor isn't about to take any responsibility for Monazene. Outraged by its decision, Panadero decides to investigate for himself.
Intent on stopping him is executive Ben Gantlet, a darkly charismatic man who has done unspeakable things to control the company. Panadero will find himself directly at odds with Gantlet's objective, and Gantlet isn't one to give up on anything or anyone-not on women, not on revenge, and certainly not on the power his position gives him.
With the help of his brilliant lab partner, Dr. Susan Chandler, Panadero will uncover Gantlet's crimes and an unbelievable conspiracy lurking at the heart of the pharmaceutical industry.
