About the Book

Her husband is dead.

She is free at last.

Hannah would have liked a child, but if barrenness is the cost of her freedom, she will gladly pay it. The farm is hers, and she has earned it. Then the village elders arrive at her door and remind her that in Israel, the land belongs to the brother.

And so does she.

Joshua grieves the loss of his brother.

Guilt plagues him.

He had loved his brother's wife from afar, and hidden it from everyone. Now Hannah is his. Surely God cannot reward him for coveting her. There must be some punishment to come.

And there is, but not at God's hand. At Levi's. He just never expected to die before his greatest act of malevolence played out, and Joshua and Hannah are left caught in his scheme.

This is a beautiful tale of romance, recovery and healing.

Don't miss it!
About the Author: Mary Ellen Boyd is a writer of all kinds of genres in fiction, fantasy, mystery, even time travel. She writes what she loves, but it must have a happy ending. Her favorite is Biblical fiction, her special passion building fictional stories around factual accounts. Temper The Wind is her first novel, and is set in the time of the Judges. How could she not write about a scripture that required Israelite soldiers to shave the heads of their newly claimed Canaanite brides? Particularly after getting a haircut that took her from shoulder-length to nearly scalped with a simple request for a 'trim'! She has a sequel, His Brother's Wife, that will pick up the book about 17 years later, so soon you will be able to see more of Javan and Taleh, and meet some of the other inhabitants of this little village. She firmly believes that each book of a series should be able to stand alone, complete in itself. She also loves English history, and gladly writes about whatever historical events and oddities grab her. As for time travel, wouldn't it be great to be whisked off to another time? Since no one has a working time machine yet, she'll just have to content herself with sending her characters there. A lifelong Minnesotan, snow delights her and she is jealous of everyone who gets a blizzard when she doesn't. Blame that on early years living on Minnesota's beautiful North Shore. She has been happily married for 31 years, with one son, who is now married himself.
