A Word from the Author
When I read the Bible, I am always struck by the people God used to carry His message to the world-people who were inadequate in so many ways. There was Moses, who was slow of speech, picked to lead the entire nation of Israel out of bondage and into the Promised Land. Then there was David, the shepherd boy, who was the only one who would stand up to Goliath. How about the entire group of Apostles, ordinary folk, who brought the gospel message to the world at great peril to themselves? The list of ordinary people doing extraordinary things by the power of the Holy Spirit goes on today. God can use those who are weak because it means they rely on Him for the strength and wisdom to accomplish anything. If you think you're among the weak, God can use you once you decide to listen to Him and begin to do things "His Way"-that is the central message of this book.
If you think God doesn't know who you are, think again. You may be just a "grain of sand" on a long beach, but the God of the Universe knows who you are and where you are and has given you a purpose in life. That's the key thought of this excerpt from the poem,"Undeserved Love."
You, Lord, are Creator of the Universe and the Great I Am
You control everything by the sweep of Your mighty hand
The heavenly bodies move in accordance with Your command
Plants and animals exist only for the benefit of Your plan
Then I switch gears, Lord, and consider exactly what I am
On a ten-mile stretch of beach, just one tiny grain of sand
Such a small element in the cosmos, I'm largely out of view
And yet, somehow, You find me because that's what You do
My prayer is that something in this book helps you to hear from Him and begin to orient your life to "His Way."
