About the Book

This book is unique in that it combines poetry and planetary history in an entertaining and educational way. For adults this book will provide information and understanding about the planet's environment and how it has evolved so as to be favorable for life. For children the book will provide a sensitivity towards the planet's environment - the poem can be recited, while the images are displayed. It is important at this stage in human history that we understand where the planet has been and what has brought us to the current conditions. After the explosion of a star, when the solar system was formed about 4.6 billion years ago, our Earth was just a molten ball that spun into a round shape. From then it took millions of years for life to evolve on our planet. It took several stages for the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to be removed, leading to its cooling until it was favorable for us. Most of this carbon dioxide was pulled out of the atmosphere and put into fossil fuels. Now these fuels are being burnt and emitted out into the atmosphere at a fast and furious rate, leading to the its warming - Climate Change or Global Warming. The book makes it clear that we have a responsibility to restore the global ecosystems, clean up the toxic, hazardous and radioactive wastes, repairing the ozone layer, stop the extinction of species and solve and reverse the problem of global warming. Th ebook provides powerful motivations for us to become caring stewards of out planet Earth, not just to be environmentally responsible, but also to ensure human survival!
