About the Author: Jesiya Susan George is currently a PhD student at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. Her area of research includes epoxy nanocomposites, polymer blends, polymer nanocomposites, and anticorrosive coating. She has published several chapters and presented papers at various international conferences. She completed Master of Science in Biopolymer Science at Cochin University of Science and Technology and Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Mahatma Gandhi University, India.
Anne George, MD, is Associate Professor at Government Medical College, Kottayam and Kerala, India. She has organized several international conferences, is a fellow of the American Medical Society, and is a member of many international organizations. She has several publications to her credit and has edited several books. She did her MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) at Trivandrum Medical College, University of Kerala, India. She acquired a DGO (Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from the University of Vienna, Austria; Diploma Acupuncture from the University of Vienna; and an MD from Kottayam Medical College, Mahatma Gandhi University, and Kerala, India.
Mathew Sebastian, MD, has a degree in surgery with specialization in Ayurveda. He holds several diplomas in acupuncture, neural therapy (pain therapy), manual therapy, and vascular diseases. He was a missionary doctor at Mugana Hospital, Bukoba in Tansania, Africa and underwent surgical training in different hospitals in Austria, Germany, and India for more than 10 years. Since 2000 he has been the doctor in charge of the Ayurveda and Vein Clinic in Klagenfurt, Austria. At present he is a Consultant Surgeon at Privatclinic Maria Hilf, Klagenfurt. He is a member of the scientific advisory committee of the European Academy for Ayurveda, Birstein, Germany, and TAM advisory committee (Traditional Asian Medicine, Sector Ayurveda) of the Austrian Ministry for Health, Vienna. He has conducted an International Ayurveda Congress in Klagenfurt, Austria, in 2010. He has several publications to his name.
Nandakumar Kalarikkal, PhD, is Director of the School of Pure and Applied Physics and International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India. He is the recipient of research fellowships and associateships from prestigious organizations such as the Department of Science and Technology and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research of the Government of India. His research activities involve nanotechnology and nanomaterials, sol-gel synthesis of nanosystems, semiconducting glasses, ferroelectric ceramics, and nonlinear and electro-optic materials. He has collaborated with national and international scientific institutions in India, South Africa, Slovenia, Canada, and Australia, and is co-author of several book chapters, peer-reviewed publications, and invited presentations in international forums.
Professor Sabu Thomas is currently Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, India. He is also a full professor of Polymer Science and Engineering at the School of Chemical Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala, India and the Founder Director and Professor of the International and Inter University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Professor Thomas is an outstanding leader with sustained international acclaim for his work in nanoscience, polymer science and engineering, polymer nanocomposites, elastomers, polymer blends, interpenetrating polymer networks, polymer membranes, green composites, nanocomposites, and nanomedicine. Professor Thomas has received a number of national and international awards. He was recently selected as a member of prestigious European Academy of Sciences. Professor Thomas has published over 800 peer-reviewed research papers, reviews, and book chapters and has co-edited 100+ books. He holds 15 patents for his inventions. The H index of Prof. Thomas is 100, and his work has been cited more than 49,000 times. Prof. Thomas has delivered over 400 plenary/inaugural and invited lectures at national and international meetings in over 30 countries.
