Literaturverzeichnis 23 Horror aequi ist ein übereinzelsprachlicher Faktor, der die Aufteilung der Komplemente festlegt und die morpho-syntaktische Form des nachgeordneten (unterworfenen) Elements beeinflusst (Vosberg 2003: 315). Im Deutschen wird die Aufeinanderfolge zweier identischer Formen durch eine veränderte Satzgliedstellung vermieden, wie an Satz (2) gesehen werden kann (Vosberg, 2006: 51). Horror aequi Effekte sind in Standard- sowie in Nichtstandard gleichermaßen anzutreffen (ebd.: 49). Tritt eine Doppelung von -ing Formen auf, so wird im Folgenden der Begriff Doubl-ing verwendet. Dieser geht auf Ross zurück, der 1972 erstmals eine Regel zur Einschränkung der -ing Doppelung auf einer rein formalen Grundlage entworfen hat. In der englischen Sprache beeinflusst horror aequi nicht nur die in dieser Arbeit untersuchte Doppelung von -ing Formen, sondern zeigt auch eine Abneigung gegenüber nicht-koordinierten to-Infinitiven (Vosberg, 2006, 41) und der Wiederholung gleichartiger Wörter aus verschiedenen Klassen.
