House of Dunbar, Part II: After the Fall of the Earldom of Dunbar

About the Author: Lyle Dunbar is an eighth-generation descendant of his first Scots-Irish ancestor in America in 1750. The Dunbar's have over 1000 years of history in Scotland descending from Gospatric, 1st Earl of Dunbar, who was a Scottish nobleman descended from the Scottish and English kings. Gospatric built Dunbar Castle in Dunbar, Scotland, in about 1072. Lyle Dunbar is a member of Clan Dunbar, whose purpose is the study and research of the Gospatric Earl of Dunbar line. Lyle Dunbar traveled to Scotland with Clan Dunbar to visit the locations associated with the Gospatric line. He researched the House of Dunbar history in Scotland and Ireland, and published two books entitled House of Dunbar documenting the 1000 year history of the Dunbar's.
