Success in life is dependent on a number of factors. A high IQ is not enough! Emotional intelligence, the ability to identify and manage the emotions of oneself and others, is critical. Emotional intelligence is easured as EQ.
Consider this: A high IQ may enable one to solve difficult puzzles and gain proficiency in the fields of science, math, and language. Emotional intelligence, however, allows us to solve the HUMAN puzzle! A child or adult with high EQ will have empathy, friends, self-awareness, self-control and be adept at conflict resolution. In short, emotional intelligence allows us to get along well with others and, therefore, be successful in life.
How to Calm Down is the fourth book in the Kinderwise(R) EQ book series. This book uses Kinderwise(R) characters to demonstrate soothing techniques as well as positive self-talk. Children can leanr to regulate their anger and anxiety simply by following along.
Self-regulation is a crucial cognitive process that enables humans to act appropriately in situations that might otherwise cause frustration, impatience or anger. This process begins to develop in infancy and is heavily intertwined with social development.
How to Calm Down can be used just for fun or as a teaching tool in a classroom ssetting, terapy group, or home.
KINDERWISE(R) was founded by a husband and wife team based in Southern California. They noticed that much of what they taught their child could be described as "The How=To's of Life!" THey wanted to present these subjects in a way that hcildren would remember.
With this in mind, they developed an EQ book series, live touring stage production and other products featuring three fictional friends. SPARKELINA(R) (a magical doll) BUSYBEE (a giant bee), and SOPHIE (a pink elephant) are new to the human world. Experiencing life through the eyes of these characters allows children to learn in a fun and interactive way. This is the central concept of KINDERWISE(R).
