About the Author: Julia Wright lives in a small Colorado mountain town on a street that leads a trail that goes to the top of Pikes Peak. Manitou Springs is filled with holistic healers, artists and many people interested in creating a more sustainable lifestyle. She has always been interested in ways to live gently on the planet. She grew up in a rural area of northern Illinois with parents who had a small garden and shopped at roadside farm stands all summer long. She loved playing in the out-of-doors then, and still chooses hiking as her favorite way to celebrate the Earth's natural beauty. Julia has been involved in coordinating the Commonwheel Artists Co-op's Labor Day Art Festival since 1976 when she joined the Co-op. It has grown into a regionally renowned successful Festival that celebrated its 40th year in 2014. In 2009 she suggested to the Festival committee that they should look at creating a more sustainable Art Festival. They agreed, but it took many community members outside of Commonwheel to make this happen. The City of Manitou Springs, Commonwheel Artists and Julia have been very involved with creating a more sustainable world in many ways. This book came about when she realized how many people are interested in learning ways to make Events they coordinate or participate in more sustainable. Most books she found offered very complicated and expensive ideas for how to create a more sustainable Event. This book is very user-friendly and invites people to take one simple step, then another, to make a change in the way an Event handles waste, so as to not be overwhelmed. She was introduced to Essential Oils over 19 years ago. Her first book, Discover Essential Oils For Optimum Health, was a way for her to share her knowledge of essential oils for to create natural health. Her FantaFaces masks spark an instant transformation when someone places one on their face. In 2013, the Waldo Canyon Fire turned many acres of land above Manitou Springs into hydrophobic soil. Manitou Springs was at high risk for flooding. Manitou had experienced flooding in 1999 when flood waters that came down Williams Canyon; one of the major watersheds from the area the fire had destroyed. She used photographs from the 1999 flood, and wrote Lessons From Past Floods: Destruction, Restoration and Preparation. Julia helps other people get published on Kindle and Amazon's CreateSpace. She has published many books herself. Find more books she has written at: www.HieroGraphicsBooksLLC.com.
