Worin zeichnet sich die Rationalität aus, welche dem Menschen allein zugesprochen wird, ihn vom Tier trennt und zu dem befähigt, was er tut und tun könnte? Denn nicht ausnahmslos alle Fähigkeiten und Handlungsweisen, von denen behauptet werden könnte, ihr Ursprung liege in der Vernunft, bleiben tatsächlich dem Menschen vorenthalten. So zeigen etwa Hunde eine ähnliche Kommunikationsbereitschaft wie Kinder im Alter von sechs Monaten bis zwei Jahren, indem sie nicht nur auf die Sprache, sondern auch auf die Blicke und Gesten von Menschen reagieren . Schimpansen wiederum sind in der Lage, ihre Umgebung mit Hilfe von Werkzeugen zu manipulieren und so vor allem ihre Nahrungsbeschaffung zu erleichtern. Was also bleibt dem Menschen noch, das ihn einzigartig macht und von der breiten Masse der Tiere abhebt? Der Aufsatz von Michael Tomasello et al. Intentionen teilen und verstehen. Die Ursprünge menschlicher Kognition bietet hierfür einen ansprechenden Ansatzpunkt. Als höchste Stelle der menschlichen Entwicklung beschreiben sie den "kulturellen Schöpfungsprozess", der in seiner Allgegenwärtigkeit als ein Merkmal gesehen werden sollte, welches den Menschen auszeichnet. Damit aber Schöpfungen wie Wissenschaften, Traditionen oder Sprachen entstehen können, bestehen die Voraussetzungen dafür in "den einzigartigen Fähigkeiten des Menschen (...), Intentionen zu verstehen und mit anderen zu teilen". In der folgenden Arbeit soll mit Hilfe des genannten Textes versucht werden, die von Aristoteles den Menschen auszeichnende Vernunft genauer zu spezifizieren. Unterstützend dazu sollen die Thesen zur von Varela, Thompson und Rosch 1991 eingeführte Bezeichnung enaktiver Ansatz genutzt wer
