About the Book

This is the story of Hunter, a young boy who loves to watch stock car races. His grandmother comes to babysit during the big stock car race and Hunter is upset because he is afraid Grandma will not want to watch the race, but instead will do grandma things. Find out how Hunter learns a lesson about stereotypes, and making assumptions about his grandmother. This book is for early readers. About the Author: Linda M. Penn is an award winning author children's book author. Penn holds a master's degree and Rank I degree in Elementary Education from the University of Louisville. She taught kindergarten through third grade for twenty-one years in public schools. Linda is an Mother's Choice Award Distinguished Honoree. Linda's first book, Is Kentucky in the Sky?, published by Racing to Joy Press in 2012, won the Silver Medallion from MCA . Penn's second book, Hunter and the Fast Car Trophy Race features a young boy who loves stock car racing. Clayton's Birding Adventure is Penn's third book written for young readers ages 7 to 10. Clayton's Birding Adventure teaches young readers all about the birds which live in their own backyards. Penn's books inspire young children as they grow from emerging readers to fluent readers. Linda is now using her own life experiences with kids and her faith in God to write children's books. Penn's characters are modern and humorous, facing and solving real life kid problems. All of Linda's book come with activities in the back of each book to enhance the child's reading experience.
